What I Miss and What I Love

So this post is going to be a list of sorts...divided, as are my moods lately, into things I miss doing and things I love about being pregnant.

Things I Miss
  • Pants with buttons
  • ALCOHOL
  • Sleeping through the night
  • Going dancing
  • Not having people stare at my belly
  • Caffeine
  • Pooping on a regular basis
  • Not having to carry around Tums with me at all time due to raging heartburn
Things I Love
  • Feeling Isabella move, punch, kick and roll
  • Being able to see her move
  • How every time Andy puts his face to my belly she kicks him (that's my girl)
  • Thinking that in less then 13 weeks I'll be holding my baby
  • Getting to eat like a piggy and no one judging you
  • Massages from Andy
  • The amped up sex drive of 2nd tri that will hopefully last well into the 3rd (a girl can hope right?)
  • Baby clothes, especially the tiny frilly little dresses.

27 Weeks

So I am finally in my 3rd trimester!  I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I still have 3 more months to go.  We've gotten a lot accomplished this week.  The nursery is painted (along with some other touch ups we did to the rest of the house), the windows are in, the blinds are installed.  Things are really coming together.  Last night we had some friends over to play cards and it was lots of fun.  I've been feeling very out of the loop with my friends lately so it was glad to get to see everyone and hang out.  Here's this weeks belly pic, survey, and nursery pics.

I only really posted the windows and the color of the walls because the rest of the room still has painting junk and a ladder in it, but I will post more as it develops.

How far along? 27 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Up about 9-10 lbs
How much does baby weigh? Around 2 pounds
Stretch marks? Nope, I just keep lubing up
Sleep? Getting more and more difficult and last night I woke up twice with raging leg cramps
Best moment this week: Painting the nursery
Movement: She's punching, kicking, and rolling like crazy.
Food Cravings? Watermelon
Labor signs? Nope
Belly button in or out? Still flat
What I miss? Pants with buttons
What I'm looking forward to: Getting new carpet
Milestone:  Entering my third trimester

Oh the banging...

The guys are here putting the windows in and all I hear is the banging and drilling that comes with it.  The windows are looking fabulous though, but my head is pounding.  I can't wait until they leave because Andy and I are going out to dinner and then going to see I Love You Man.  I love me some Paul Rudd.  I'll post a nursery pic tomorrow after the new blinds are installed.  I hate home repair and we still have to have light fixtures installed in the nursery and living room and new carpet.  Ugh, I just want my house back.

26 Weeks

So I decided to jump on the bandwagon with the weekly surveys...at least for now.  I'm pretty fickle about keeping up with stuff like this, but we'll see.  First of all here's my pic, and I must apologize for it.  Usually I'll make Andy take like 5 and then I'll pick the best one, but the camera died after just one shot and it's not the best.  I was actually in the process of turning when he snapped the pic, hence the surprised look.

How far along? 26 weeks
Total Weight Gain:  up 8 lbs
How much does baby weigh?  Close to two pounds by now I'd imagine
Maternity Clothes?  Almost 100%, there are still a few pre-preg tops and dresses that still fit.
Stretch marks?  Nope, thank God.
Sleep?  Decent, some nights are better than others and I wake up a lot
Best moment this week:  Andy seeing Isabella kick from the outside
Movement:  It's a dance party in there I'm sure
Food Cravings?  Donuts
Labor signs?  No
Belly button in or out? Flat, I'm hoping it doesn't pop...skeevy
What I miss:  Cocktails
What I'm looking forward to:  Painting the nursery tomorrow and new windows on Friday!
Milestone:  Nursery is finally on its way

MIL Vent

So I posted this on GP, but I'm still pretty pissed so I figure I'll blog about it. Andy invited his parents over for dinner tonight. I like when he schedules it for during the week or a Friday so we don't have to stay in to entertain them on a Saturday night, but whatev. My MIL, FIL, SIL, and 2 year old neice come over. I made a really good dinner. Rigatoni with a chicken ragu and mushroom crostini. I don't eat meat, but I'm verry accomodating to meat eaters who come here and I'll cook meat for other people. My MIL brought her own food b/c she didn't want to get a stomach ache. Are you fucking kidding me? Everyone else loved the food and my FIL took all the leftovers home. The mushrooms were delicious. She's such a hag. Who does that? Next time I go there I'm totally bringing my own food. Then she makes a comment about how big I've gotten since the last time she saw me (about a week ago). Andy thinks I'm being overly sensetive...I think I'm completely justified.

Veganized

A week or two ago Moo posted a delicious looking dessert.  It was a chocolate chip cookie dough brownie and I swore I could veganize it and I did.  It was really easy too.  I figured the best way to celebrate passing my glucose test (110 thank you very much) was to concoct a deliciously decadent dessert.

I bought a dairy free brownie mix that didn't require the use of eggs, it was organic too which is always a plus.  I could've made my own brownie mix from scratch, but who has that kind of time?  I did make my vegan chocolate chip cookie dough and plopped some down into the brownie batter and viola...yumminess on a plate.  I topped it off with some soy ice cream and I was in heaven.  Andy loved it too and he brought the leftovers to the station and everyone there gobbled them up.  So good.  Here's a pic.

25 Weeks and What a Weekend

Ok so I had a really fun weekend.  Friday after work my two girlfriends went to paint pottery (because we wanted to go eat dinner but 3:00 is even too early for me, so we were killing time).  I made a really cute pencil holder for my new computer desk.  I'll post a pic of it when it's done next week.  Super cute.  Then we went shopping and had a really delicious dinner.  It's always nice to spend time with girlfriends.  I wanted to go home early b/c I was supposed to take my Praxis test to get my teacher certification in N.J (even though they'll honor my NY certification for a year).

At around 6 am Saturday morning I wake up in excruciating pain.  Leg cramps!  Everyone talked about them, but I didn't know how bad they hurt until I woke up in tears.  Andy wasn't home...he was in Philly for the night going out with his best friend and I thought I was going to die.  I couldn't move it, couldn't walk on it.  I tried to flex and point my feet, but it hurt too bad.  Finally after about 15 minutes it went away and I must've fell back asleep and slept through my test! So now I have to reschedule, and lose the money I already paid.  Boo!

Saturday night I went to see the Brittany Spears concert with PCD opening.  It was awesome!  She didn't sing a word, but man does she put on a fantastic show.  It was really really fantastic.  We all had a great time.

Today I had a friend from work's surprise 30th birthday brunch which was lots of fun.  I love surprise parties.

And here is my belly pic for the week...I feel like I'm getting bigger everyday.

Pregnancy Brain

I wore my shirt inside out all day and didn't realize it until after lunch. I just kept wondering why my collar was so high in the front. Oh boy.

Happy V-Day and Thanks Abc!

First and foremost I need to thank Abc for sending me such a thoughtful baby gift!

It was so sweet of you to think of me and I can't wait to put a pretty picture of Isabella in it.  It's going to look great in her nursery.

Today is my V-day, which is my viability day.  This means that if Isabella were to make an early appearance she would have a pretty high percentage of survival outside of the womb.  We're hoping that she continues to bake a little longer ;)  That means that I am 24 weeks pregnant.  Only 16 weeks to go.  I can't believe how fast the second trimester is going.  First tri dragged ass.  There's still so much to be done!  She's been active like crazy lately.  Andy's felt her a whole bunch of times.  Last night she was being particularly acrobatic and I looked at my belly and I was able to see it move.  It was so cool, like a little alien in there.

Here is my belly pic for the week.  It's the same shirt I wore for my 19 week pic, so if you feel like looking at older posts, you can see how much I've grown!

I'm actually getting ready for dinner out with the girls.  It's been a long time since we all got together.  There are seven of us that are really close and I believe we have six coming out tonight (my friend Lara is in Israel and I miss her terribly).  It seems like the older you get the harder it is to make time for your best girlfriends.  People have hectic schedules, jobs, relationships, family etc so it's nice that we try to make an effort to get together a couple of times a month.  Here's a pic from New Years Eve '08.

From left to right standing it's Crotch, Me, Some random guy trying to ruin our picture, Lara, Christina (my cousin), Christie (my cousin), sitting is Meaghan (my sis), and Teresa.

Ok, I think this post has rambled on long enough.

You Know What Really Grinds My Gears

The damn tags in maternity shirts.  They are so big and loud and itchy.  I have to cut each one out of my tops.  Just because the clothes are bigger doesn't mean we need giant sized tags.  If you don't cut them out they make an audible "crunch crunch" noise when you walk.  It's been every brand so far...gap, ON, Motherhood, Pea in a Pod, grrr.  So annoying, especially when you don't cut it right and the little shards of paper poke and prod your skin.  I'm uncomfortable enough as it is without the added annoyance of craptastic tags.

23 Weeks

I'm posting my 23 week belly pic today, but I took it yesterday, so it's exactly 23 weeks.  Sorry I gipped you guys out of my 22 week one, but honestly it's not that different.  I feel like I may have "re-popped."  Sometimes I look in the mirror and I can't believe how big my belly is getting!

Today Andy and I really got to work on the nursery.  The closet is completely cleaned out.  We assembled our new (and smaller) computer desk.  Andy's going to attempt to move the computer from the nursery into our bedroom by himself.  There's a lot of wires, so tomorrow's post may be about accidental electrocution.  We'll see.  All of the papers have been filed.  The filing cabinet has been moved into the closet.  All we need to do now is move the bedroom set out and into my parent's basement, get new windows, install a ceiling fan, paint, and get new carpeting.  Well now that it's all listed it seems like a lot, but we've already accomplished so much I have hope it will all get done soon.  My goal is to have it ready by Easter break.  Stay tuned...
