Annoying!

I'm just gonna out and out say it that sometimes my kid is downright annoying. She's a keeper and all but there are somethings that she does, or doesn't do, that drive me bonkers.

She refuses to eat any green vegetables. No green beans, no broccoli, no avocado. Those are delicious veggies and I nommed them all up when I was pregnant so there's no valid reason why she shouldn't like them. Additionally if she could find another way to show her distaste for said vegetables besides throwing them on the floor I'd appreciate it.

The whining has to be the most annoying sound in the world. It's not crying. She's not upset. She's annoyed she's not getting her way, which usually means playing with the stove. It's out and out whining and it is the fastest way to put me in a fowl mood.

She's not snuggly anymore. She's all about the walking around and being all independent, which is wonderful for her development, but annoying to her huggy mommy ;)

Oh and what's with the throwing things on the floor and laughing when I pick them up?! Not cool Isabella, not cool at all.

It annoys me that she doesn't like the Wonder Pets. They are amazing. I actually watched an episode by myself after she had gone to bed. She's all about the Wiggles and Ni Hao Kai Lan, who are cool, but they're no Linny, Tuck, or Ming Ming

Now in all fairness, there are probably a bunch of things that I do that annoy the shit out of her. Like when I kiss her all the time, that's probably very embarrassing for my big one year old. I also sing really badly and quite often. And I always mess up the words to her favorite Wiggles song. So I guess we're even.

hmmm, did you try the cheese trick?
or ranch dressing
or italian dressing

we loved (and still love) green veggies as kids. but there are lots of veggies that aren't green, like ...cauliflower, yellow squash, carrots, good luck!

or it might help to have her plant a garden (maybe she'll eat food she makes!)

We are the same and different. There is nothing quite like the whining to send me running for the nearest bottle of wine as soon as the kid is in bed.

However,

I cannot STAND the Wonder Pets. They really, truly drive me bonkers. The Wiggles? The Wiggles save my mornings.

Oh how I remember the days of throwing food and little feet scampering away from me...definitely a challenge! These little ones are masters at putting us through emotional roller coasters...one day they want nothing to do with us, and the next we can't leave their sight. Hope today is better :)

Mine has been doing that lovely whining for no good reason stuff all day and it's enough to drive me crazy!

Ugh. I can NOT do whining. I'd rather her scream and throw a tanty (which she is also very good at) than give me low-level whining all day. Although, I must say since I have vowed to NEVER give her anything, and hardly any attention, when she whines, it's getting much rarer. We had it at the shops just this morning, with her whining that she wanted" 1. something to read, 2. something to eat, 3. something to drink, 4, something to do, 5. dunno, jst something. I calmly replied "It's not about what you want, if you whine, you sit in the trolley with nothing. Talk to me when you're ready." She sulked for 2 minutes then nicely asked for her book, and all was right in the world. Hang in there.

As for the veggies, I'm lucky that GG eats pretty well, but in the early days she ate what was put in front of her, or nothing. No kid will starve themselves (I would make up the amounts she missed etc with her milk at night or throughout the day) and eventually she got that there was nothing else coming. Plus sometimes they just need something to be familiar to them before they'll brave it.

Good luck!

My son isn't snuggly anymore either. Doesn't it stink? I miss my squishy little boy that just wanted to be in Mommy's arms. BUT he's at the stage where he always wants to be NEAR me & has a meltdown if I go 2 inches on the other side of the baby gate. Just can't win...

oh my goodness a woman after my own heart! I've grabbed your absolutely adorable button, and I will be back! My mother read my blog, and when she read what I had to say about my kids, she said: It sounds like you don't like them...ummm...sometimes I don't!

I hate when they reach the age that they no longer want to snuggle! :0(
