Do People Have Different Mirrors?

or is it just me?  I was on the subway the other day, which is something I really hate to do since I'm more of a cab girl, but anyway I was looking around and I couldn't believe the things that some people were wearing.  Now I'm not a fashionista in any sense of the word unless sweatpants and a ponytail have been gracing the covers of Vogue, but I do know how to dress for my body type.

For example, I wouldn't wear a pair of pants that are at least a size too small with a skin tight shirt that barely hits the button of said jeans.  I just would look at my muffin top and giant belly and realize that this outfit doesn't work.  But not the girl on the train.  She had no problem flaunting this ensemble.  And it's not like she was even fat, she wasn't, maybe a little bit thick but her outfit made her look way heavier than she was.  I wonder if she realizes this?

Also, if you are going to wear open toed shoes shave your toe beards because that is just nasty.  A pedicure wouldn't hurt either and if that's not your scene slap some paint on those bad boys or cover it up with a nice pair of flats.  Hairy toes on women skeeve me out.

Is a skin tight mini dress and sky high heels appropriate for 2 pm on a Saturday?  Either this girl was doing the walk of shame or she's trying way too hard to fit in on the fashion scene.  She was definitely able to pull it off.  Maybe if I was really skinny I would walk around in a mini-dress and F-me shoes too, who knows?!  Although I'd like to think I'd save my skank wear for the night scene.

The skinny girl at the gym prancing around in what can only be described as hot pants and sports bra.  You're skinny.  You know it.  I know it.  And so does everybody else in the gym.  Flitting around while the meatball muscle heads check you out is getting annoying.  I don't even think I've ever seen her work out.  But she's really getting on my nerves.  Put some clothes on woman!

And finally, the woman with the faded leggings that are stretched out and worn and the shirt that went out of style circa 1998, go shopping.  Buy yourself something nice.  You deserve it.  You work hard, you should get to look nice sometimes too.  But at least you're not wearing those sweatpants with a ponytail ;)

I'd define you as more of a fashionista ;) You a) "are more of a cab girl" and b) just described several outfits that are nowhere NEAR as bad as you COULD see as the worst things in the world. Plus, isn't it raining like crazy by you guys? no one is fashionable in the rain.

Ah yes, some people must not look in the mirror at all. The gym girl REALLY gets me because that is so obnoxious and annoying!

I've seen things like this all the time here too, though not on the subway in Orlando. ;-)

There is a girl at my gym like that too. I think she even does the slow motion run on the treadmill near the weights on purpose.

I'm not sure if you do blogger awards, but I think you deserve one! It's on my blog :)

Have a good weekend!

Bwhahahn"toe beards" love it:) Yes I think some people do have some clouded mirrors..or else they just don't give a damn. I wish I cared a little less, it would be easier to get dressed every morning!

I'm all for self-esteem and feeling good about your body, regardless of weight, etc, BUT there is such a thing as reality too. Just because a "style" is in does't mean it is meant for a size 26 (even if they make it)! I am a size 18/20 woman so I know what I'm talking about. I work hard at finding fashionable clothes that accentuate my positives and make me look better. I know I'm fat; I don't need to emphasize it.

Ah, if only it were a mirror problem, then it would be so much easier to fix . . .
