In a Year

Andy and I decided that we'll probably start trying to have a baby next Spring -ish.  That gives us about a year to save up some money, put our house on the market, and move into a bigger place.  Now that I know what I'm getting myself into I know that we can't waste this precious year as a family as three.  Also, I'm pretty sure that any "me-time fun" is a lot harder to come by with two kids around, especially in the beginning.  So I want to such all the life out of this year as I can, as a family, as a couple, and by myself.

We're planning a trip to Disney World this summer so we can take Isabella before a new baby comes.  I hope 2 years old isn't too terribly young for Disney.  I'm sure she'll have a ball.

I'm taking a trip to Vegas for a bachelorette party.  I'm super jazzed up about that as I've never been to Vegas and it's been a hot minute since I've had a girls only trip.

I want to take a photography class.

I want to finish my 30 and above for my next salary step.

I want to get to my goal weight.  I know it might not make sense as to why I want to get really skinny just so I can get all fat and pregnant again, but for some reason it makes sense in my mind.

I'd like to take a mini-vacation with Andy.  Nothing crazy, maybe a cruise or a long weekend at a winery or Atlantic City.  More than one night away together to reconnect.

I want to throw a Murder Mystery dinner party and spend more time with good girlfriends.

I want to take Isabella to a swim class.

I want to enjoy our little family in every way that I can because I know I'll never be able to get back to it. So I have one year and a lot to look forward to.

I can so relate to this. We are talking about trying soon and I want to make the most of our family of 3 before then. I am hoping that Disney is in our future in the fall.

Have fun on your vacations, and enjoy all the time you can as a family of 3 before a new one! I wanted to lose weight before I got pregnant too, it actually makes a lot of sense so that you don't start off with too much extra weight and then add baby weight. It is a very healthy decision :)

Hi There,

I stumbled upon your blog through
Top Mommy Blogs. Your blog is really inspiring. I especially enjoyed reading 'Acceptance' and 'Awkward'. I have only started blogging as of May 2010 and as a new mama it has been so cathartic.

This is me:

Take care and I look forward to reading more!

As much as I love my family the way it is now, I do miss our little family of three at times. Seriously take it all in now before everything changes. It is a big difference, good, but different. I love your list of things you'd like to do before a new baby comes...what a great way to be sure to get it all in before then! Two is not too young for Disney...we took our son for the first time at age 1 & just went with our girls & son at ages 17 months & 3 years. Both times had so much fun! & losing the weight is totally understandable...I'd want to do the same as well! Good luck in this next year & when the time comes for #2!

Exciting news for your family! Your two year old will adore Disney World the best thing to do is start watching Disney movies now so she will recognize all the characters and be even more excited to "meet" them!
