I've spent some time lately reviewing the Discovery Girls Magazine and Fab Girls Guide Books and I think that they are just really quality products. The magazines use real girls from different states instead of super thin, super scandalous models/celebrities. It helps to foster self-confidence and self-esteem in girls ranging from 8-13. As an adult, how many times do you put down a beauty magazine feeling fat, ugly, and unstylish? Now imagine as an insecure adolescent who doesn't have a strong sense of self. It's magazines like Discovery Girls Magazine that is trying to steer away from negative self-image in young girl while trying to provide outlets for questions on friendship, relationships with parents, fashion, and any other issues a tween/pre-teen would be going through. It accomplishes this in a fun, inviting magazine that speaks to girls on their own level using their language.
The four Fab Girls Guide Books are Friendship Hardship, Sticky Situations, Getting Your Questions Answered, and Getting Through Tough Times are narrated by super fab twins Carmen and Dallas and address in depth issues that girls are dealing with, such as popularity, poisonous friendships, and how to be the best you can be.
And I have an awesome Discovery Girls package for the winner:
1 year subscription to the magazine (6 issues)
1 set of Fab Girls Guide
1 copy of the collectors edition with 2 free gifts

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm returning the favor :)
I wish I had a suit that sucked in all my fat! That would be amazing!!
Thanks for your comment on intelligent conversations..yes people that often cause drama are idiots..selfish and not listening anyway..most often the conversation takes a turn into a blame game, which had nothing to do with the topic at hand...when they don't agree, they turn it into a whole different convo...we all don't have to agree...we all have our own opinions..but understanding that someone does not have to think like someone else...or worship the ground they walk on would make things a lot easier...too bad so many in the world are thinking, the world was made for them...LOL....mother-in-law is one and instills it on her kids...NOT GOOD...thanks for following...following back...and btw, I have two daughters...a teen and a 9 yr old...and I remember when my teen loved me so...now it's all debates...LOL..sad thing..my 9 yr old is mimicking her...they start younger and younger these days...have a great weekend
What a great giveaway! As a mom to a little girl, this is something I'm interested in. I remember my Grandma buying me books similar to these when I was young. They do make a difference. Thanks for stopping by my blog for SITS day!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! That Fertility book is very informative so far. I started it a few nights ago and am already learning so much.
Like your post today about Discover Mags. I stopped by Magazines along time ago because in part the images were just images that were just so not real to me. Great post and for me a great discovery!
I think they are awesome because girls need their self esteem built up as much as possible.

I love that the Discovery Magazine and Books work to boost a girl's self confidence. It helps them deal with an array of issues like peer pressure. Also, the magazines and books provide answers and advice on subjects that girls may feel uncomfortable talking to their parents, teachers, etc. about.
Thanks for the great giveaway. ~Pauline

They arnt like the other girls magazines that only talk about famous people and things that dont matter.
I like DG website because when I let my daughter and her friend look at it they seemed to find ease in relating to the things they read. I like the fact that it covers a variety of topics and that it is written for everyday girls. DG seemed to discuss things that impact our girls on their level.
If I were to win this giveaway I would want my daughter to have it because right now she is going through the changes that occur to a tween. She needs a positive outlet aside from her dad and I to look to and know that she is going through things that other girls her age are experiencing as well.

I think this is an awesome magazine/book series because it addresses REAL pre-teen issues. They use real girls who look cute, but aren't dressed to look like mini-adults. It's wholesome and real, and I LOVE it for kids!

Any group or organization that helps girls with self-esteem is awesome in my book.
I would give this pack to my 12-year-old daughter.
I think they are great because they are aimed at a pre-teen level without having all the extra crap that other magazines have in them. It is about building them up, not makeup, dating, sex, drinking etc.
